holding / self portrait series
as long as I can remember I have hated the way my arm looks in photos because of my cerebral palsy. when asked to take self portraits for a class project, I was absolutely dreading it. the more I thought about it though, the more I wanted to lean into that nervous and scared feeling.
I decided to photograph only my arm.
because of my cerebral palsy I cant grab or hold things with my hand for longer than a couple of seconds, so I have learned to adjust and hold things in my arm instead. each of these nine photographs demonstrates something that I hold in my arm throughout the day.
